Lion's wear

After all this baseball talk, we cue Rocky J. Squirrel: "And now for something completely different....."

The Detroit Lions unveiled their new logo and uniforms today.  It's not a drastic change.  They've more or less just tweaked what they've traditionally had.  They're sticking with what's called the "leaping lion" as their logo (which will be on the helmets); but instead of a sillouette, the lion has some detail, including teeth.

Here are the uni's.  Officially, that's 'Honolulu blue.'

As you can see, not much has changed.  The numbers are a different font, but overall the uniform is very similar.

I've always been partial to the Lions uniforms because they're so similar to my alma mater Steel-High Rollers - two-time defending Pennsylvania state champs and THE BEST UNIFORMS IN THE STATE!!

  2. I always knew our uniforms were similar to the Lions, but I never realized just how similar until now. Still, I'll go with 'royal blue' over 'Honolulu blue' any day.

  3. Agreed, I've always liked Detroit's uni's, and I love the fact that they stayed pretty traditional with this change. They didn't darken the color and add ugly stripes down the side (see Denver, Buffalo, Cincy).
